Hosting a Lunar New Year's Day event for Foreigners 

[Opportunity for Communication of Global Culture]

 

 

Daegu Shincheonji Multicultural Center opened four years ago in an attempt to let us love like light, rain and air to foreigners who suffer in other countries.

Daegu Shincheonji Multicultural Center(SMC, Thaddaeus Tribe) hosted its event 'Savouring Global Cuisines and Styles with SMC' for 50 foreigners in Daegu to spread traditional Korean culture and comfort foreign residents' nostalgia.

 

The event was held at Daefu Shincheonji Multicultural Center on the 3rd to make time for  harmony and communication of international culture through ▲Introduction to the Koreaan celebration of Lunar New Year's Day ▲ Practicing Sebae (New Year's bowing) ▲Plaing Yut (Traditonal Korean board game) ▲ Introduction to the culture, food and costume of Lunar New Year's Day celebrated in foreign countries which provided opportunities for communication and harmony of global culture.

 

Jokhan (from Myanmar) who experienced sebae (New Year's bowing) in a hanbok(traditonal Korean costume) for the first time in her life said, "I was so happy I had the time to intrduce a festival celebrated in Myanmar and to learn Korean culture. In particular, the game of Yut was so fun."

 

Myeongsuk Choi, branch manager of Dagu-Kyeongbuk SMC, announced "We had a jolly Lunar New Year`s Day with foreign students and working aboard to pusure their dreams. We will soon carry out the free medical check-up program 'Visiting Dotor' for their benefit."

Meanwhile,n Deagu SMC was founded in February 2014 and has been functioning through donations made by specialists in Korean, Taekwondo, guitar, ocarina etc.

130 foreign residents from 13 countries including Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Sri-Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Vietnam and others are currently registered as students. 30~40 students partake in weekly classes.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus Shows Constant Growth... The Number of Congregational Member Breakthrough More than 200 Thousands.



The number of congregational member of Shincheonji Church of Jesus the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church of Jesus) has continued growing more than 200 thousand. Standard of registered number of congregational members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus is attendance of service.

On 13th January, Shincheonji Church of Jesus the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony held Passover service and the 35th annual general assembly at the headquarters church, Gwancheon, Gyeonggi province and made the announcement.

Additionally Shincheonji Church of Jesus explained that the number of congregational members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus is 202,899 in a total last December which is 9% pure increase compare to previous years' 186,175.

Chairperson Lee, who stood on the platform, encouraged the members "We evangelized many people last year and carried out many activities. Good job, everyone. We reported all of last year's work to you and you are the one who decide whether we did good or bad." in his sermon.

He  comforted the members with saying "The church and the center can be operate because numerous duty-workers have worked and volunteered with the spirit of sacrifice so far. We are now walking through a narrow path. The path you can't walk without the blood and the tear. As it was in Jesus' era, men of God were persecuted in every biblical era. We have been working in same condition too."

He also emphasized "We can certainly believe and testify that previous era has been ended and the era of Jesus has come. Men can't but God can. Let's work hard this year. Let's restore the lost nation of God and create eternal heaven where God reigns."

 According to the announcement, in consideration of the fact that people have to take 6 months of the bible study program to enroll in Shincheonji Church of Jesus and attendance of every service including Wednesday service is almost 100%, the number has more significant meaning than the growth of the members.

Moreover, despite of containment and slanders from the establish church and some Christian press, the status of Shincheonji Church of Jesus has been strengthened and appraisal of it has been raised because the church has been stressing on the bible-centered belief.

Besides, Shincheonji Church of Jesus focused on evangelism to follow the order 'Every member have to evangelize and to be alive believer' from Chairperson Lee which resulted in registration of 37,000 students in Zion Mission Center. Subsequently the church estimated they will grow more than last year because the students will finish bible-study program of the center to enter the church officially this year.

That day, the general assembly thoroughly reported details of activity of last year, financial and the real estate condition of the church. It was broadcasted to every church of the twelve tribes in Korea so every member can know.

The person concerned of Shincheonji Church of Jesus stressed that "Shincheonji Church of Jesus holds the general assembly in every January to report previous year's details of activity, financial and the real estate condition of the church to the members. It shares overall result of previous year so we can plan measures for better church and inspire them to have owner spirit. Once again, this year, we will focus on growth of belief of members internally and spread of evangelism externally to be the church that is faithful to its nature."
